Alessandra Zurolo is adjunct Professor of German Linguistics at the “Federico II” University in Naples and German as Foreign Language (DaF) teacher in the secondary school. She holds a PhD. in “Mind, Gender and Language“ (XXXII cycle, concluded in May 2020 at the “Federico II” University in Naples). During her doctoral studies she was also PhD Visiting Student at the University of Vienna. Her dissertation consisted in a diachronic analysis of selected German medical textbooks from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 19th century and has been published in the “Forum Für Fachsprachenforschung” series. She presented her researches at manifold international conferences (such as the „MetaphorLab Festival“ in Amsterdam, the „Changing Landscapes of Professional Discourse“ in Ostrava and the „Theory and Pratice of Language for Specific Purposes“ in Zagreb among others). She is member of the work group „Historische Gelehrten- und Wissenschaftssprache“. Her pubblications focus on metaphor studies and (historical) text linguistics.
